The power of social media
Collaboration with local, national and international organizations has always been a strong point of Ecuador from the Heart. It gives rise to our bi-line; Together Changing Lives. One example of this in action is when Garry Vatcher of Foundation Hogar de Esperanza Inc organized a mission group to travel to the coast. He assembled a team of psychologists and university students to provide a self-esteem workshop for the single moms.
Would you like a tour?
As I always do, I took them for a tour. Little did we realize the stir that would soon happen.
The viral video Fe y Alegria & San Raymundo 2 soon created waves.
Christian Moscoso Moscoso was so touched by what he saw, he took out his phone and started recording, with tears in his eyes.
The result of that walk is this video.
Christian waited for the perfect opportunity to arrive to get this video in the hands of influential people. Here he is standing in front of the second most influential man in Ecuador; the VP of Ecuador, Alfredo Enrique Borrero Vega.
While the VP was visiting Cuenca, Christian approached him, and I will let the video speak for itself.
This video and this interaction spurred many levels of government to begin working in these communities, the results of which are felt to this day. Our foundation was invited to high level Technical talks across multiple services and multiple levels of government. This opened doors and forged relationships to build strong bridges. Together Changing Lives.
